Our Holy Church is Blessed with three sets of twin brother Holy Physician Saints – Saint Cosmas and Saint Damian of Rome, Saint Cosmas and Saint Damian of Arabia and Saint Cosmas and Saint Damian of Asia Minor.
They share a common Feast Day on October 17th with the other Holy Unmercenary Saints.
Paraklesis to the Holy Unmercenary Saints
Apolytikion: Holy Unmercenaries and Wonderworkers, visit our weaknesses; freely you have received, freely give to us.
Kontakion: Having received the Grace of Healing, ye extend health to those in need, O Glorious and Wonderworking Physicians. Hence, by your visitation, cast down the audacity of our enemies, and by your Miracles, heal the world.
Saint Cosmas and Saint Damian of Rome
Feast Day: July 1st
The Life of Saint Cosmas and Saint Damian of Rome: By their generosity and exceptional kindness to all, the brothers converted many to Christ. The brothers told the sick, “It is not by our own power that we treat you, but by the power of Christ, the true God. Believe in Him and be healed.”…
In Melbourne, Australia, we are Blessed to have a portion of the Holy Relics of Saint Kosmas and Saint Damian at the Church of the Holy Unmercenary Saints Kosmas and Damian in Oakleigh.
Saint Kosmas and Saint Damian lived the words of Our Lord Jesus Christ Who said: “Freely you have received, freely give.” (Matthew 10:8).
