Saint Nicholas, out of his Christian zeal, struck Arius on the face for his constant arguing against right beliefs. Saint Nicholas was then stripped of his Bishop’s Omorphorion and Holy Gospel, and imprisoned. However, many of his fellow Clergy received a vision of Saint Nicholas being visited by Our Most Holy Mother of God and Our Lord Jesus Christ, who returned to him his Vestments, for he was worthy, having acted not out of passion but from extreme love and piety.
