A Child’s Evening Prayer
Lord, Jesus Christ, You received the children who came to You. Receive also from Your child this Evening Prayer. Shelter me under the protection of Your wings that I may lie down in peace and sleep. Awaken me in due time that I may Glorify You, for You alone are good and love all people.
Into Your hands, O Lord Jesus Christ, I commend my spirit and body; bless me, save me, and grant me Eternal Life.
The Father is my hope, the Son is my refuge, the Holy Spirit is my shelter, Holy Trinity, Glory to You. Lord, Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me. Amen.
Then they brought little children to Him, that He might touch them; but the disciples rebuked those who brought them. But when Jesus saw it, He was greatly displeased and said to them, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the Kingdom of God.”
“Assuredly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the Kingdom of God as a little child will by no means enter it.”
And He took them up in His arms, laid His hands on them, and blessed them.
Matthew 18: 2-10
Then Jesus called a little child to Him, set him in the midst of them, and said, “Assuredly, I say to you, unless you are converted and become as little children, you will by no means enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Therefore whoever humbles himself as this little child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven… “Take heed that you do not despise one of these little ones, for I say to you that in Heaven their Angels always see the face of My Father who is in Heaven.”
