It is necessary to always endure everything, no matter what happens, for God’s sake, with gratitude.

One day Saint Seraphim was severely beaten by three robbers while working in his garden. He did not fight back, but rather Prayed for them and forgave them. Saint Seraphim was badly injured and healed by Our Most Holy Lady the Mother of God, he did however remain bent over, and for the rest of his life he walked leaning on a stick or a small axe.

“It is necessary to always endure everything, no matter what happens, for God’s sake, with gratitude.”

“All condemnation is from the devil. Never condemn each other. We condemn others only because we shun knowing ourselves.”

“When despondency seizes us, let us not give into it. Rather, fortified and protected by the light of faith, let us with great courage say to the spirit of evil: ‘What are you to us, you who are cut off from God, a fugitive for Heaven, and a slave to evil? You dare not to do anything to us: Christ, the Son of God, has dominion over us and over all. Leave us, you thing of bane. We are made steadfast by the uprightness of His Cross. Serpent, we trample on your head.'”
