“Glory be to God for all things.”

January 27th: Transfer of his Holy Relics to Constantinople

Kontakion: The Church rejoices at the recovery of thy Holy Relics. She kept them hidden, like most precious gold, and by thine intercessions she unceasingly grants healing to those who praise thee, O John Chrysostom.

Saint John Chrysostom spent three years in exile, where he also Reposed. The last words of Saint John Chrysostom, before his Blessed Repose, were “Glory be to God for all things”.

Over thirty years later his Holy Relics were transferred back to Constantinople. Read about the great forgiveness of Saint John that took place during the Translation of his Holy Relics.
